Rosaries held in prayer, and hearts filled with faith marked a day of thanksgiving and devotion. On October 10, 2026, the faithful gathered to solemnly conclude the nine-day prayer journey and celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. Leading this year’s 22nd Family Rosary Crusade (FRC) were Mr. and Mrs. Mark Anthony Tan and their family, guided by the theme, “Mary: Queen and Mother of Peace.”
At exactly 2:00 pm, the school quadrangle was quickly filled with students, parents, faculty, alumni and staff. Afterwards, the mass then proceeded at the Catarman cathedral, with Most Rev. Bishop Nolly C. Buco. DD., together with Rev. Fr. John Mark Mijares, Rev. Fr. Julius Balanquit, Rev Fr. Mark David Palma, Bishop Joseph Tarife Durero, DD. SVD., and Rev Fr. James Philip Monserate. Consequently, Bishop Joseph Durero led the homily with inspiring words mainly about how people should deepen our faith and honor Mother Mary. His words, “Blessed are those who hear the word of God,” “Support and sustain devotion,” reminds them to remain faithful and God-centered as our day goes on. Then, the Holy Eucharistic Celebration finally concluded with a blessing.
Following, the 22nd Family Rosary Crusade started despite the uncertain weather. Once again, the streets were filled with melted wax from candles, the essence of faith, and the unity of all the people present during the crusade. Ending the crusade, they entered the premises of Saint Michael Academy (SMA). Each section made an entrance along with their patron saint. After all the students, parents, faculty, alumni and staff arrived at SMA; the bell rang continuously, the people made acclamations, and the candles glow brighter as the sun reaches its dusk. While the SMA choir sang “Regina Sacratissimi Rosarii,” the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary passed through, and all of the people waved their white handkerchiefs with love and deep devotion.
When the Holy image of Mother Mary was placed at the center, the atmosphere was filled with peace and the scent of candles. Furthermore, the lead family, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Anthony Tan and Family dedicated a prayer, and gave thanks to Mother Mary. Subsequently, the choir proudly sang “Salve Regina”. The school then gave the Hermana for this year an award for appreciation, and the school principal, Sr. Pinlyn B. Dahili O.P gave a heartwarming message and words of thanks.
Finally, the estandarte was turned over to the Tuba Family, who would be the Hermana for the 23rd Family Rosary Crusade next year. As the candles were finally blown out, the bell remained steady— through this annual tradition, the community once again demonstrated that faith becomes stronger when shared and that unity flourishes through prayer. This serves as a testament towards a steadfast relationship with God, with Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, and with all the people who surround them. United in prayer and one in soul.
Viva La Virgen!
